Hello,

I’d like to tell you a bit more about how I ended up here. The short version:

People kept telling me “you have good hands”, so I became a massage therapist.

The long version:

I’ve always been interested in biology, in fact I have a master’s degree in science and 10 years experience in the field of wildlife biology. Looking for a change, I ended up working as at team leader at an outdoor retail store, and seasonally as a sea-kayaking instructor and guide. I started taking yoga classes, and keen to deepen my practice enrolled in a 200-hour yoga teacher training. I took it all in, but the technical aspects were what really clicked for me. I loved memorizing anatomy, and learning about the planes of motion. When I started to notice that things were coming up for me in yoga, I got curious about other ways to explore this connection with myself — like massage. So, I enrolled in a 24 month massage therapy program at Mohawk College in Hamilton, Ontario. It was a great fit; massage came easily to me.

Fast forward to present day. I have a successful solo practice on the Edmonds waterfront. I’m still growing as a massage therapist. I work with people who value the work that I do. I’m so happy to be doing this.

Quick facts: Yes, I’m Canadian. I speak English and Français.

Hope to meet you soon,

Annika (It’s pronounced “Anne-ick-uh.”)
